The evening is the culmination of the annual deer hunting competition between Monmouth Fish & Game and Sports Unlimited of Winthrop. Before the season begins, each club selects a roster of hunters to represent their organization. Throughout the season, the tagged weight of each hunter’s harvested deer is recorded. At the end of the competition, the club with the highest combined tagged weight is declared the winner and earns bragging rights for the year!
The Deer Supper brings the two clubs together to recognize the hunters, announce the results, share stories from the season, and enjoy an evening of camaraderie. Following dinner, the fun continues with our annual auction, featuring a variety of donated items and plenty of friendly bidding.
More than just a supper, this annual gathering celebrates sportsmanship, friendship, hunting traditions, and the friendly rivalry between two local sporting clubs that share a passion for Maine’s outdoor heritage.
